How would you like to test new mobile applications? Sound interesting? Well, A new company called Mob4Hire is using crowd sourcing to help mobile developers test new mobile applications. New projects are listed on the site along with eligible cell phones.
They do not seem to have a problem getting testers, with over 350 in the system. More developers need to get on board, since there is only one project currently listed.
I am just a little bit wary about testing unproven applications on things I depend on. What if my cell phone crashes, gets a virus of some type, who knows what else? The risk are probably low, but I think I will leave it up to the more daring and adventurous type.
Below is a little more information on how the whole process works.
From the site:
How Mob4Hire works: — Mob4Hire is responsible for building and maintaining a large community of testers, ranked by their quality of participation.
– Developers post Test Applications to the community, specifying desired handset(s) and network(s).
– Testers bid for the work, developers choose testers based on price and/or community ranking.
– Payment is held in escrow by Mob4Hire and released via PayPal when testing is complete. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
The pricing structure is a bit complicated, but here it is.
